Microlut

Microlut is a progestin-only contraceptive pill (mini-pill) used to prevent pregnancy. It contains levonorgestrel, a hormone that thickens cervical mucus to block sperm and alters the uterine lining to prevent implantation. Microlut is a suitable option for women who prefer or need a contraceptive without estrogen, such as those who are breastfeeding. It must be taken daily at the same time for optimal effectiveness

Microlut works by using the hormone levonorgestrel to prevent pregnancy. It thickens the cervical mucus, making it harder for sperm to enter the uterus, and alters the uterine lining, reducing the likelihood of implantation. Unlike combined pills, Microlut does not stop ovulation in all cases but relies on these mechanisms to provide effective contraception. For maximum effectiveness, it must be taken daily at the same time without a break between packs

1. Take one pill at the same time each day. Ideally, begin taking Microlut on the first day of your period for immediate protection against pregnancy. If you start at any other time, use additional contraception (such as condoms) for the first 48 hours.

No major side effects are observed but you may experience mild symptoms of Nausea or upset stomach, headaches, breast tenderness, mood swings.

If you start taking Microlut on the first day of your period, it is effective immediately, and you are protected from pregnancy right away. However, if you begin at any other time during your cycle, it will take 2 days to become fully effective
